I am an author and certified life coach for writers who are struggling to create the life of their dreams.
I live with my daughters, my beloved, and two barking dogs. By day I'm a Financial Crimes Investigator. All other times, I'm following my sacred calling - mama, writer, coach. I cherish the early mornings when the words flow as the sunrises, but I love the harder writing days too. When I’m not writing I’m thinking about what I’m going to write, OR I’m thinking about you.
I understand the duplicity of being a writer not writing. I walked that journey for YEARS.
In 2018, I was newly divorced, navigating work, raising babies, in my mid 40's, and I was missing from my life. I was taking care of all the things for all the people and I felt less and less connected to myself.
I believed it was normal to feel sad, disconnected, like my life was tolerable and hard. Those were the regular feelings I lived with, AND, I have beautiful children, good friends and close family. I was not connected to myself. Being a mother had been my life purpose, and as a result of my divorce, my children were spending half their time with their dad and half their time with me. I was lost without my daughters. My heart hurt, and I couldn't see how to get past it.
In 2019 I hired a life coach. She taught me that I could change my reality by changing my thoughts. THEN she taught me that I could CREATE my reality by thinking thoughts on purpose. And EVERYTHING changed. She opened my mind to a new reality of what was possible for ME. She helped me see that what I wanted was available to me - like right NOW.
I wanted to write a book. So I started writing.
Once I figured out I COULD write, I meandered my way through a 50,000. word narrative – and got curious.
My LIFE coach had had such a direct on my LIFE. What kind of impact could a WRITING coach have on my WRITING?? Seriously. So I hired a writing coach. Ten months later I had self-published my first four books in my series, The Boardroom and I’ve been writing ever since.
I figured it out.
And so can you.
“Book by Book is the writing guide I wish I had early in my career—and the one I’m so grateful to have now. I’ll be recommending this smart, soulful, and incredibly inspiring book to every aspiring to established author I know.” —Camille Pagán, Amazon Charts bestselling author and certified coach
In the spirit of Andrea Bartz’s We Were Never Here, and Julia Heaberlin’s We Are All the Same in the Dark; Shadow’s Edge is a story about the secrets we bury, the restorative power (and danger) of love, and above all, how breaking the silence may just be the secret to regaining what once was lost.
